INtroduction

Most of the world’s population today enjoys wide benefits of freedom and democracy. At the same time, there is a growing problem of political apathy and idiotism which undermines these same benefits that we inherited thanks to the hard work of our ancestors. VelEx Politics is here to change that. We want to make politics, the public sector, and democratic participation look cool and appealing.

There are many cases about positive outcomes of democratic participation and activism (IT CAN BE DONE), insights about available democratic tools for participation (WHAT TO DO), biographies about individuals that represent successful and positive political figures (HEROES & ROLE MODELS), resources for CIVIC EDUCATION and APPEALS made by individuals and organizations related to current issues.

However, this data and information are scattered all over the internet, different media, and literature. It is almost lost in the ocean with dominant-negative perceptions about politics, the public sector, and democratic participation. In addition, it is not presented in a way to inspire and encourage individuals and organizations to enter the political arena. For this reason, we use and recycle a lot of existing data and information but turn it into content that serves our vision and mission. We provide a transofrmative experience for individuals to turn from self-interest seeking IDIOTS who suffer from learned helplessness into empowered and informed CITIZENS who contribute to public good.
